Netflix viewers are being urged to watch a new ’10/10′ series based on tragic true story.

The new edition to Netflix‘s Top 10 TV Programmes is a seven-part limited series set in a dusty suburb in Brisbane in 1985.

The show follows middle schooler Eli Bell (Felix Cameron) and his older brother, Gus (Tiger Halley), who live in a working class neighbourhood with their mother Frankie (Phoebe Tonkin) – who suffers from addiction – and their stepdad, Lyle (Travis Fimmel).

Whilst Eli’s got it tough with school bullies and his stepdad, he’s also being mentored by a warmhearted convicted felon (Frances Brown) and a pen pal serving jail time (Adam Briggs).

In trying to find out what his stepdad is really up to, Eli takes the wrong path and gets mixed up in the criminal underbelly of his town. You can see the trailer here:

Titled Boy Swallows Universe, the series already has a solid 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 8/10 on IMDb.

But some fans have also gone on step further, giving it a 10/10 whilst calling it ‘beautiful, brilliant and uplifting’.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) one fan wrote: “I power watched Boy Swallows Universe on Netflix last night, after becoming transfixed.

The series is actually adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by author and journalist Trent Dalton and the story was inspired by Dalton’s childhood.

A crime series which has been described as the ‘greatest Irish TV show’ is now available to watch on ITVX.

While the drama originally aired on Irish channel, RTE, us Brits can now catch all five seasons of the thriller on the streaming site.

The gangster drama tells the story of Dublin’s drug-fuelled criminal underworld.

At the centre of the show is Darren Treacy, who is returning to Dublin after hiding in Spain in a bid to avoid the Garda.

Darren has only just returned to Ireland when he learns that his ex-girlfriend Rosie has moved on, and his brother Robbie has been shot by a rival gang.

The drive-by shooting sparks a war within the community, with Darren and his gang consumed by vengeance.

As well as a stellar plot, Love/Hate has a pretty impressive cast, with many of the actors going on to star in some huge roles since.

Robert Sheehan plays Darren, meanwhile Avengers actor Tom Vaughan Lawlor stars as Nidge and Saltburn‘s Barry Keoghan plays Wayne.

Also starring is Ruth Negga as Rosie, Peaky Blinders and Kin actor Aiden Gillen, Happy Valley star Charlie Murphy, Kieran O’Reilly and Killian Scott as Tommy.

Described by O’Reilly as the ‘greatest ever Irish television show’, some viewers are only just discovering the series after catching it on ITVX.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “What a fantastic series! Only just discovered it – absolutely brilliant all ways round! Best thing I’ve watched in recent times since Peaky Blinders and Top Boy!”

Book adaptations sometimes get a bad look in but Trent Dalton’s story, which was inspired by his own childhood, is what makes the series so griping and real.

And fans of the show have hailed this as a ’10/10 watch‘, mostly due to Cameron’s acting ability which showcases an amazing range of emotions and sincerity.

But it’s not Cameron’s first rodeo in the spotlight as the Aussie actor had previously starred in 2020s Penguin Bloom, which starred The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln and Naomi Watts in an emotional tale about a family on the brink of breaking down after Watt’s character becomes paralyzed after a fall.

Cameron played their son, Rueben, and it’s also a gut-wrenching yet heart-warming watch.

The 14-year-old is definitely going places.

Let’s be honest, there can be tonnes of new shows released and no matter how amazing they are, we’ll still miss our old favourites.

Sure, a new season of the Umbrella Academy is great and we’re all buzzing for Disney’s Daredevil series, but what about the ‘best cancelled show in history’?

Or old Channel 4 dramas finding new fans when they hit Netflix? And in a real blast from the past, a groundbreaking BBC series praised for changing TV back in the 90s is finally returning.

Originally airing a whole 25 years ago, it seems the popular show isn’t as extinct as its subjects. Yes, Walking With Dinosaurs is coming back to British telly.

If you’re old enough to remember or were forced to sit through recordings of it by your big brother or sisters, those six episodes took us into the incredible world of dinosaurs with impressive computer-generated imagery and animatronics.

The BBC banger became the most expensive documentary series per minute ever made at over £37,654 per minute to produce with the techniques inspired by Jurassic Park.

Walking With Dinosaurs drew in 15 million viewers for its first episode back in 1999, making it the most watched science programme in British TV during the 20^th century.

It ended up picking up two BAFTAs and three Emmy awards and spawned a whole franchise including Walking with Cavemen and Walking with Monsters.

And now, first officially announced back in June, we’re going to get another six-part series to take us ‘on a unique journey back through time, revealing the incredible life stories of these long-lost giants’.

This Walking With Dinosaurs is going to focus on those dinos whose ‘remains are currently being unearthed by the world’s leading dinosaur hunters’.

The BBC Studios production for the BBC and PBS will be co-produced with ZDF and France Télévisions and is set to land on our screens in 2025.

We’re teed up to get a look at a Spinosaurus, a ‘youthful Triceratops battling a ravenous T. rex in North America’ and a lonely Lusotitan who is ‘risking it all for love’.

“A whole new generation of viewers is about to fall in love with Walking With Dinosaurs. The original series was one of the most exciting factual shows of all time, and this reinvention builds on that amazing legacy,” said Jack Bootle, BBC Head of Commissioning, Specialist Factual.

“Each episode is underpinned by the very latest science but is also filled with drama – making this a series for both dino lovers and people who just want to be told a great story.”
