Fans are rediscovering ‘true masterpiece’ starring Homelander actor and calling it ‘one of greatest series of all time’

When you love one show and want to know what to watch next, going through the actors and directors back catalogue is often a great place to start.

Love Wolf of Wall StreetChances are you’ll love Goodfellas.

Watching Little Women and going ‘ooh I love Saoirse Ronan in this’? Brooklyn will surely be right up your alley.

Just as with the above, if you love The Boys, there is a show in one actor’s back catalogue which you are sure to dig.

Starring Homelander actor Antony Starrit isn’t a one to one comparison to The Boys – no one is a superhero and no one is getting their d**k lasered off.

What it is though, is a dark cop thriller that is totally engrossing.

Starr stars as Lucas Hood, a career criminal who takes on the identity of a town’s sheriff upon their death.

Running for four seasons, it has an IMDb score of 8.4 and a whopping 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Don’t worry this is one that will run out of steam either, because season 2 has a score of 94 percent, and the final two have a perfect score.

The show, called Banshee, has been a massive hit with fans and viewers.

Though it isn’t on Netflix (sorry to say, guys), it is on Sky and NOW in the UK.

This has never stopped users of the Facebook group Netflix Bangers in the past though, and it didn’t this time, with one post from earlier this year going viral discussing the show.

One viewer posted it on Facebook saying: “Guys I would love to recommend Banshee, a true masterpiece.”

They did also later add an apology for not realising it wasn’t on Netflix, but we can understand their enthusiasm to share the show, as everyone seems to agree across the board.

The comments were all in agreement, with one saying: “One Of The Greatest Series Of All Time”.

Another said: “I can’t believe people still haven’t heard of this! Can’t recommend it anymore highly.”

Allison Keene, reviewing the show’s final season for Collider, said: “Banshee‘s story is full of twists and unexpected connections, as well as its telltale brutal violence.

“In a sick streak of creativity, the show continues to find new, gruesome ways to kill people.”

The show received a rating of TV-MA, the highest allowed, due to the amount of sex and violence in Banshee.
