Quentin Tarantino certainly knows what the deal is when it comes to movies, he’s certainly made plenty of great ones.
However, there’s one film which he recently declared he won’t make, and given some recent announcements, there’s likely to be another movie joining those ranks in the future.
The director was recently on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast to chat about all sorts of things, but when you’ve got Tarantino in the room, you’d be remiss not to steer the conversation towards movies.
The chatter soon turned towards films, and specifically trilogies as Tarantino said he thought there was ‘only one trilogy that completely and utterly works to the nth degree’.

He explained that it was Sergio Leone’s ‘Dollars Trilogy’ of movies A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly all starring Clint Eastwood as iconic Western character ‘The Man With No Name’.
That might explain why Tarantino asked composer Ennio Morricone, who did the music for Sergio Leone’s movies, to work on six of his own films, including the Westerns Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.
That’s Tarantino’s favourite trilogy of movies as the director noted that many other trilogies ‘don’t really land the third one’ using the example of the Mad Max films and saying that Beyond Thunderdome ‘doesn’t dwarf’ The Road Warrior.
However, there was another trilogy of films which he thought did manage to pull off the trick of going bigger and better with each film, and it’s something you’ll almost certainly have seen growing up.
He said: “In the case of Toy Story, the third one is just magnificent. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
“If you’ve seen the other two then it’s just devastating.”

While Toy Story got glowing praise from Tarantino, the director did say he had ‘no desire’ to see Toy Story 4 because the third one ended so well.
“But the thing is, three years later or something they did a fourth and I have no desire to see it,” he told Maher.
“They literally ended the story as perfect as you could. So I don’t care if it’s good, I’m done. I am done. It can still be good, I am done.”
You might not expect him to be queuing for for Toy Story 5 then, and plenty agreed with Tarantino that the first three movies in the series were the best.
Lots thought the third movie ‘packed an emotional punch’ and didn’t really need a follow up, with people commenting that ‘the fourth movie was not needed’ and that like Tarantino they ‘have no desire to see it’.
Being a sequel the story didn’t need after ending so well is probably the most common criticism of Toy Story 4 people have, and now movie number five is on the way some are wondering if the fourth film’s ending ‘meant nothing’, since it sounds like Woody is coming back.

Filmmaking legend Quentin Tarantino has urged people to watch a specific horror movie without knowing anything about it beforehand.
Usually, if Tarantino speaks about films, you listen.
The creator of classics such as Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood among others might know a thing or two about a good watch, with the 61-year-old revealed the next horror film that should be on your list.

An old clip of the film director and screenwriter is doing the rounds on social media, where he explains that people should watch this film with no reference, as it has ‘one of the best exposition scenes’ that he has ever seen.
Speaking about the film, he explained: “A film that I really liked, I don’t know if it’s come out in England yet, but it was a really clever horror film that came out in America,
“It’s really good however, one of the problems with the film to some degree is the fact that people want to tell the story in order to get people to go see it.”
Tarantino then urged people not to do this, as the movie has ‘one of the best exposition scenes’ he has ever seen – high praise from a film legend.

Released in 2014, It Follows is directed by David Robert Mitchell in his second feature and stars Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist and Olivia Luccardi.
Spoiler alert if you want to heed Tarantino’s advice and go into the movie completely blind, but it follows teenager Jay who is stalked relentlessly by a mysterious shapeshifting figure after contracting a sexually transmitted curse.
The film had a budget of just $1.3 million, grossing an impressive $21.9 million at the box office.
With a glowing score of 95 percent of Rotten Tomatoes, it seems like fans and critics agree with Tarantino on his evaluation of the film – huge shock.
He further explained in the viral clip: “For the movie to truly, truly work, you need to go in not knowing what it’s about.
“And you need to be watching going ‘what the bloody hell is going on?’ and then the exposition scene explains it – and that’s the best way to view the movie.”

Fans in the TikTok comments also seemed to mirror the filmmaker’s thoughts.
One user posted: “The score in that movie is really underrated too, it’s fantastic.”
Another commented: “I wouldn’t call it a problem with the film, but rather a problem with the audience.”
A third said: “Hence why I NEVER watch trailers. That movie was decent cos it had a clever plot and I didn’t know anything about it,” with a laughing emoji.
A fourth added: “Great film. Shades of Halloween and other classic horrors.”
It Follows is available to stream now on ITVX. And, if you end up loving it as much as Tarantino, a sequel titled They Follow is on the way.

Quentin Tarantino has scrapped his tenth and final film
The director has apparently changed his mind on the film
Quentin Tarantino is one of Hollywood’s most established and famous directors, with his films often known for their violent themes, profanity-riddled dialogue, and pop culture references.
Responsible for film classics such as Pulp Fiction, Inglourious Basterds and the Kill Bill series, fans are eager to see what the director’s next and final project will be.
The 61-year-old has stated that he would make 10 films before retiring for good, and having made nine thus far (he counts the Kill Bills as one movie), many are waiting with baited breath to see how the Hollywood legend signs off.
But sadly, it looks like it isn’t meant to be.
Tarantino’s most recent project, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, was released in 2019 and starred the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie among others.
The film received positive reviews from critics and fans, and performed impressively at the box office, much like the majority of the director’s films.
Though he’s known for throwing unexpected surprises into his many movies, this may not be one that fans will be happy to hear.
An anonymous source has revealed to Deadline that Tarantino has dropped the film as his final project, giving no other explanation apart from that he ‘changed his mind’.

It was reported that Pitt was going to be the main star in the film, marking the third collaboration between the actor and director, with rumours of other familiar faces from past films set to make appearances.
Sony was also set to team up with the director to make another film following the success of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
After reports that the director simply rewrote his script and delayed production, he has allegedly decided to scrap the project.
Named The Movie Critic, hype around the film gained traction after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended as Pitt was set to join the cast, with shooting expected to begin this year.
Tarantino opened up about the film to Deadline in May 2023, who explained that the film was going to be ‘based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous’, and used to write reviews for movies that were published in a porno magazine.

It was inspired by Tarantino’s own experience as a teen, where he had a job of putting adult magazines into a vending machine and emptying coins out of the cash dispenser.
He explained: “All the other stuff was too skanky to read, but then there was this porno rag that had a really interesting movie page.
Speaking more about the main character, who is based on a real person, he revealed: “He was very rude, you know. He cursed. He used racial slurs. But his s**t was really funny. He was as rude as hell.
“He wrote about mainstream movies and he was the second-string critic.

“I think he was a very good critic. He was cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic.”
The director’s sudden change of heart on the film is not the first time that he has backtracked on a project though, as several years ago, the director shelved upcoming project The Hateful Eight after he gave a group of actors the script and one of them leaked it out online.
Following the perceived betrayal, Tarantino later returned to the project after seeing how much positive feedback it got after performing a reading for charity, with the film eventually being released in 2015.

Tim Allen reveals he and Tom Hanks have been approached to do Toy Story 5
It wouldn’t be the same without Buzz and Woody.
Tim Allen has finally confirmed what many of us have been hoping and praying for.
Disney’s CEO Bob Iger announced earlier this year that we would be getting a fifth film in the Toy Story franchise.
During an earnings call, he said: “I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia.
“We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.”

While many were excited about the possibility of seeing Andy and Bonnie’s toys in another adventure, some were worried that the studio was whipping a dead horse.
Toy Story 3 was wrapped up in a perfect bow and the fourth instalment was a clever way of bringing the gang back together for one last hurrah.
Considering that Woody and Bo Peep left the group to become part of the ‘Lost Toys’ and Buzz was left with everyone else, it seems like the franchise was officially finished.
When news of a fifth movie was announced, some thought we would be getting only one side of the now-split group, meaning either no Buzz or no Woody.
However, Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear, has confirmed that both he and Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, have been approached to return.
He told Jimmy Fallon: “They have reached out to Tom and I to reprise the roles.
“They’re not saying anything about it.”
Allen also explained that the ‘writer of one of the better ones’ in the franchise has been hired to pen the script.
“He said, ‘If I didn’t get this right, I wouldn’t do it’. So it could be a very, very interesting way to reunite it,” Tim explained to Fallon.
Allen recently explained what he would like to see in the fifth film.
“I don’t know this is where the story’s going, but what if the whole story was through… Andy is an adult, has children, and they just happen to be online, [and] the kid goes, ‘Have you ever seen this toy?’ And Andy sees that Buzz has got a hand missing, and he’s in a… they’re selling these vintage toys,” he said in an interview with The Movie Dweeb.
“And Andy goes and gathers all the toys up. “
“He has to go out and find each one of them, put them back together, bring them back to his house, and starts the whole thing over again with his son.
“And I said, ‘What a wonderful idea is that he brings it [back]. It’s all through Andy’s eyes, because we made his life, and now he’s returning that favour.”
Now that would be a good movie.

Toy Story 5 has been announced by Pixar, as the release year for the sequel has been revealed.
The news came at this year’s D23 expo in California, in which Disney is laying out its entertainment plan for the coming couple of years.
Making the announcement tonight (10 August), it was confirmed Toy Story 5 will see the toys ‘go head to head with what kids are obsessed with today’, which is of course, ‘electronics’.

Yep, the new film will be all about ‘toy meets tech’, with the first look showing the toys looking on sadly as a kid sits with an iPad looking device under a blanket.
Absolutely buzzing with the news, users took to X to say: “Whaattt flash back to my best years Lfg.”
Others wrote: “This is amazing.”
However, some were a little torn about the idea of another Toy Story as one put: “I’m confused? Woody stayed at the fair with Bo Peep right? How is he back with them.”

Another concurred, chiming in to say: “Where’s Bo Peep? I thought Woody abandoned his friends to be with her.”
Toy Story 4 ends with Woody leaving the other toys to be with Little Bo Peep.
This comes after Toy Story 3 also ended with Andy donating his toys to a young girl, leaving many fans wondering how there can have been two full films after these final endings.
