This story is about a starving and unhappy dog who was on the edge and would hardly have been able to survive if kind people had not met on his way. When rescuers from Friends of Reggie in Texas first received a call about an emaciated dog seen on the street, they did not immediately find him and spent some time searching places where he had been seen before.
During their search, they came across an alarmed dog who began to show them the place where the unfortunate dog ended up. It was his girlfriend who had been looking after the poor guy all this time. The dog, who was later named Aniken, was too weak and could no longer move. Arriving at the scene, rescuers were shocked by the condition in which he was found. It was simply a heartbreaking sight. His emaciated body had many infected lesions, and he had lost most of his teeth due to the irresponsibility of his owners.
After rescuers took him and his girlfriend, Aniken calmed down a little and felt as safe as if he knew that he would finally get help. Very soon he was taken to the veterinarian, where all the health problems that seemed to exist at first glance were confirmed, and other diseases were also discovered. It was clear that he had never been taken to a veterinary clinic, and his state of health was proof of this. He had a lot of parasites, scabies, a weak heart, kidney disease, severe anemia, and many different infections.
Despite numerous physical health problems, Aniken continued to endure these difficulties and was a true fighter. He was prescribed a rather long and expensive treatment, which he could not do without. Many people responded to the call for help and in a short time the necessary amount was collected for the treatment and rehabilitation of the dog.
After several weeks of difficult treatment, the dog finally felt relief and was able to relax a little and fully enjoy his food. He had to follow a very specific diet consisting of many small meals in order for his body to properly absorb all the nutrients. As soon as he got better, he was placed in a foster home, where his guardians looked after him closely until he was fully recovered.
A few months later, Aniken changed beyond recognition and began to look like a completely different dog. His health has improved significantly, his weight has returned to normal, and the time has come to find him a new loving family where he will never be hurt, will be loved, and will take care of him. He is very happy now and is living his best life with people who love him so much. This sweet dog is grateful to be with such wonderful people and that he can finally enjoy his life to the fullest.
