Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about the health struggles he has faced, after his co-star noticed something different about his appearance.
Jeremy Clarkson has been a fan favourite on our screens for decades, but became a hit with a new audience in recent years after the release of Clarkson’s Farm in 2021.
The Amazon Prime series follows Jeremy and his farm colleagues trying to navigate the industry, after beginning as a total newbie.
Known for his great relationship with Jeremy, co-star and farm manager Kaleb noticed something different about the presenter’s appearance after returning from a holiday in the sun.

Following a trip to the South of France, Kaleb believed that Jeremy had a serious skin condition, after noting that he can’t really sunbathe at all anymore.
He addressed the issue in a recent piece with The Times, as he wrote: “The next problem we have when we go abroad is the sun.
“I used to lie in it, hoping I could go home looking like David Dickinson.
“But I never achieved that Cuprinol finish.
“I just went red and then all my skin fell off, as though my eczema had returned.
He continued: “So now I don’t sunbathe at all.
“I just sit under a tree until five and then scuttle at high speed into the pool.
“When I returned to the farm on Monday, Kaleb thought I’d caught vitiligo.”

Vitiligo is a condition that causes the skin to lose its pigment, but the 64-year-old had not been suffering from it.
In August 2022, he opened up about some of the other health struggles he has faced over the years – including a battle with weight loss.
He realised there was a real issue when he started struggling to keep up with his 26-year-old son Finlo Clarkson.
He built a home gym, and hired a personal trainer to help him tackle losing the pounds.
He spoke about this further in his Sunday Times column in 2023, where he said: “When I go with my son to Stamford Bridge, he pootles along at what people call ‘walking pace’ and to keep up I have to unleash my inner Bannister.
“Which means that for the first half of the match I can’t concentrate on the football because I’m too busy coughing up my spleen and trying to get my breath back.”
He has also struggled with symptoms of hearing loss for several years, but took this more seriously when he discovered that there was a connection between hearing loss and dementia.
He added: “It’s not the end of the world, because if I do become really ill, I can always see a doctor at my local hospital.”

Jeremy Clarkson has shared a huge announcement to fans while making his annual social media post to mark A-Level results day.
Millions are today (15 August) receiving their A-Level results as they hold their breath and hope they’ll get the grades they need to make it to university.
But it doesn’t always go to plan, with many going through the clearing process or looking at other avenues altogether instead of pursuing a degree.
And like clockwork, former Top Gear man Jezza is here with his annual post to announcement what he got in his A-Levels and how it didn’t stop him from achieving the career he’s had.
Unless you have been living under a rock, Clarkson has for years posted on X (formerly Twitter) about what grades he got during his college years.
It’s become a meme in its own right, with many taking to X to wish everyone a ‘Happy Jeremy Clarkson Day’.
One C grade and two Us to his name, Clarkson usually accompanies what he’s up to now after spending the last 40 or so years earning the millions he now has to his name.

From ‘deciding which of his Range Rovers to use today’ to ‘currently being on a super yacht in the Mediterranean’, he’s here to let you know he’s doing well.
Well, for 2024 he’s decided to be a bit more relatable. But that shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if you’ve watched any of the three seasons of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime Video, given that the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host has mellowed somewhat in his 60s after taking on the running of his 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm.
Historically outspoken – and feeling the heat on certain issues such as his opinions on Meghan Markle – rolling up his sleeves on his Cotswold farm alongside girlfriend Lisa Hogan and young farmer Kaleb Cooper has given fans a new insight in to the real man behind the media persona.

For his 2024 post on X, Clarkson took the opportunity to combine his new business ventures on and around the farm with his lack of success at college, with the Yorkshireman revealing when his new pub is about to open. Spoiler, it’s really soon.
“Don’t worry if your A level results aren’t what you were hoping for,” he posted on X.
“I got a C and two Us, and here I am, 46 years later, with my own pub.
“It opens next weekend if you fancy dropping in.”
The pub is a historic venue called The Windmill in Asthall, which is just outside the Cotswolds town of Burford. That’s roughly 20 minutes from his farm. Reportedly paying just under £1 million for the venue, Clarkson found a few alarming discoveries during the renovation process, including a pair of pants on what was a former dogging site.

Operating under a company called Baobab Operations Limited, Clarkson’s long time mates Mark Devereux and Jonathan Hornby will be in charge of making sure it’s run properly.
Devereux has worked as Jezza’s lawyer, while his business partner, Jonathan Hornby, is one of the key behind-the-scenes people that helped launch Hawkstone Lager. Hornby has been friends Prince Harry for more than a decade.
By ‘next weekend’, we can only assume Clarkson means 24 and 25 of August, which is the August Bank Holiday weekend. Clever, Jezza.
Responding to Clarkson’s opening announcement, one fan wrote: “I’d love to come but I expect it will be heaving and queues to get into it that are miles long.”
In response, Jezza honestly said: “Hope so.”

Fans of Jeremy Clarkson and his hit Amazon Prime Video show Clarkson’s Farm have been left conflicted after visiting his newly opened pub and seeing the price of a pint.
The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter spent the August bank holiday weekend running his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which opened just in time for the extra day off work to mark the end of summer.
After punters were spotted queueing from 8am and encountering a couple of teething problems, the general consensus among fans of Clarkson’s Farm is that Jeremy’s latest business venture is a welcome addition.
Clarkson took over the pub earlier this year, spending almost £1 million to secure the premises which lies around 20 minutes away by car from Diddly Squat Farm, just off the A40 in the village of Asthall, near Burford.
He has promised to use British produced goods only inside the pub and restaurant, which stocks all varieties of his own British-made Hawkstone beers and cider.
With long queues across the weekend, many have taken to social media to give their two cents on what the venue is like and if it’s worth visiting alongside the likes of the nearby Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
Among the reviews, some have criticised the price of a pint in the venue. But that criticism has been met with a staunch defence of the products being sold by Clarkson and his team.

One critic wrote: “Really necessary to charge those prices?
“Absolutely ripping people off because it’s on TV, it’s sick.”
And a second added: “Now you wonder why people go to the supermarket [for their beer].”
The price of a pint at The Farmer’s Dog ranges between £6 and £5.50 depending on which line of Hawkstone beer or cider you’re buying.
You are looking at £6 if you want a pint of Hawkstone IPA, Hawkstone Premium, Hawkstone Hedgerow Cider, and Hawkstone Cider. A half pint of any of these costs you £3.10.

It is then £5.50 for a pint of Hawkstone Session lager, Hawkstone Pils, Hawkstone Breeze, and cask ale. Half pints of any of these come in slightly less at £2.90.
Defending the price of the pints, one fan said it is unfair to compare to other venues due to the message Clarkson has issued about the purpose of the pub.
They said: “Please stop complaining about the prices. You can’t compare them to a ‘normal’ pub, where food is sourced by huge national wholesalers.”

Ahead of the opening, Clarkson issued a message on the pub website saying he ‘tried his absolute hardest to make sure that every single thing you consume in The Farmer’s Dog was grown or reared by British farmers’ – something he admits he ‘failed’ to on one account.
But for the most part the message is clear – Clarkson is using the pub to support local. And he has admitted that the experiment is unlikely to make him any money.
Another fan of the pub stood up for what Jeremy was doing, adding: “Before moaning about prices, just ask yourself if you are comparing like for like.”

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that Prime Minister Keir Starmer is ‘barred’ from his pub as its doors officially swing open to the general public.
The Clarkson’s Farm star branched out in to the world of hospitality earlier this year, buying a pub down the road from his Diddly Squat Farm for ‘just under’ £1 million.
Renaming it The Farmer’s Dog, the venue off the A40 at Asthall, near Burford, has spent the summer months preparing for its grand opening today (23 August) just in time for the August bank holiday weekend.
The price of a pint at the pub has been revealed alongside the full food menu, as well as the prices of each dish.
With long queues forming outside the pub ahead of its midday grand opening, film crews followed Clarkson as he rocked up to the venue with a large tray of mushrooms as some punters revealed they had been there since 8am to secure a table inside.
Ahead of the big opening, though, former Top Gear man Clarkson revealed one very important person wasn’t on the guest list and, in fact, would find himself refused entry it he turned up.
Speaking to Times Radio presenter Cathy Newman, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter revealed that the PM himself, Sir Keir Starmer, was effectively barred from the venue.

“He’s banned. Actually, he’s the first person to be banned,” Clarkson told Newman when asked about Labour’s understanding of the rural economy.
“He’s actually on a board in the hall, he’s banned.”
Referring to the Labour government as a ‘hopeless bunch’, he added: “I don’t think any of them have set foot outside Kentish Town for the last 35 years.”
When Newman questioned Clarkson on exactly why Starmer was banned from the Cotswold watering hole, the Grand Tour frontman said: “Erm… hello? I thought you were running a news operation.
“He hasn’t done much to endear himself to me yet. We’ll have a look at farming. It might turn around, you never know.”

One former prime minister who wont be banned from the pub is former Conservative Party leader David Cameron, who is famously a neighbour of Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm.
And it’s a situation that has seen them become friends, with Clarkson lending him a tractor at one point which blew up minutes after the former Prime Minister sat down to use it.
“David Cameron broke my tractor the other day,” Clarkson said last year on the Performance People podcast.

“He just borrowed it to go and mow his paddock and then…”, Clarkson said before Kaleb Cooper butted in with: “Never lend a tractor to an MP.”
Kaleb said: “It’s ploughed fields all day for the last you know, 60 years. And then all of a sudden David Cameron jumps on it and ‘bang’.”
Clarkson said: “I honestly thought he’d been hit by a heat-seeking missile. There was so much smoke. Unbelievable amount of smoke.”
The full Times Radio interview with Jeremy Clarkson, including further comment on Starmer, will be broadcast after 6pm.
