A street-abandoned puppy, less than two months old. The unfortunate dog was immobile because of his two fractured legs and his shattered back. The worn-out dog still wanted something, though.
Did he want to find his mother? Was he frantically looking for food? Fighting to slake his thirst, the undernourished tiny dog persisted. He obviously had been undernourished for a while. He wanted to live like the dog inside a resident’s home, warm and loving. Still, there remained hope for this bereaved dog still. Actually, he exuded tenderness, love, and a need to be protected. He was waging his tail and begging for a cuddle when I got there. He was in excruciating pain, his leg aching. He was rather anaemic and thin.
He will go by Clark, we agreed. The state of Clark shocked even the doctor. He was unable to even urinate; maybe polio. Clark suffered much when the doctor went ahead and performed a urethral catheterization.
Ticks and fleas have engulfed the poor animal. Sending our best wishes to this poor little one… It is a terrible predicament for him. Did Clark not deserve a nice dinner and some relaxation after a stressful day?
He started to show indications of improvement, thank goodness. Let’s help this unfortunate baby along his path as he would need several significant procedures. Clark showed shyness at times. And he would look at the cylinder curiously.
Worse worse, Clark was unable to pass a bowel motion. He needed surgery on his anus.
It was difficult work to treat this infant. Still, his cute face reminded us to keep going.
Day 20 found the youngster to have advanced significantly. He had put on a kilogramme.
He would have spinal surgery the next week. With any luck, his health would get much better and he would have greater mobility. Now the operation was starting. Thank heavens, that worked out well. He now required extremely close post-operative care.
Day 35 saw Clark’s improvement continuing. He will surely recuperate completely in due course.
I appreciate everyone of you showing this tender kid so much love. To us, your help is invaluable.
